ABOUT US

Roger Gidney first started learning the "art" of taxidermy from lesson books that were given to him while attending high school as a sophomore in 1968. This took place in the "Pacific Great Northwest" while living in a small town known as Rainier Oregon located right on the mighty Columbia River!

The Taxidermist Chukar Hunting In The Mojave Desert

Hunting, trapping and fishing became a way of life and Roger soon began establishing a reputation for his taxidermy skills by the locals and others from small neighboring towns. By this point he had plenty of practice learning and "cutting his teeth" so to speak mounting chickens, Ruffed Grouse, Blue Grouse, Ringnecked Pheasant and a host of different species of waterfowl. In 1974 Roger moved to southern California and brought the taxidermy business with him. Please enjoy browsing through our site, and notice that when you look through our photo gallery, we not only show photos of our finished specimens but we also give you a peek inside our shop where you will see mounted birds in all different stages of the mounting process.

Roger is also a dealer of Native American Artifacts, sales, authentication and restoration. See the links page for access to Roger's other website RG Artifacts ( www.rgartifacts.com ).
